The 18 Fibromyalgia trigger points.

On the body, there are 18 Fibromyalgia trigger points, also known as "tender points" that will produce tender, localized pain that hurts to the touch. Trigger points are isolated, clearly in a particular zone on the body and very irritable when touched.

The Fibromyalgia trigger points produce paint locally and could possibly be formed by stress on muscle fibers. Patients will have a pattern of pain that will accompany the chronic musculoskeletal disorder of Fibromyalgia, and they may experience a decreased range of motion and stiffness in the affected areas. The muscles that are affected are the ones used to maintain body posture; muscles in the small of the back, the neck, the shoulders, and the pelvic region. They also occur on the arms and in hips.

According to the rubric that the American College of Rheumatology developed, physician's use these trigger points to determine whether or not someone is in fact has Fibromyalgia. If a patient complains of such symptoms in 11 or the 18 Fibromyalgia trigger points, then that patient is considered to have Fibromyalgia. To treat these points, it is important to have ergonomic furniture in your house and office and take as much pressure off the Fibromyalgia trigger points as possible.
